Stretch before you start!
Be sure to loosen up before you start swinging. It will help avoid injury and get the body ready. Here a couple of my favorites. They’re simple and very easy to do!
The Lateral Back Stretch – Hold a club with both hands over your head. Keeping your pelvis steady while facing forward, bend as far as you can to the left and hold. Slowly return to the upright position and repeat to the right side.
The Toe Touch – This stretches the lower back. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Slowly bend forward at the waist and try to touch your toes. If you have a bad back you can sit on a bench and do the same.
Trunk Rotation – Do this either sitting on a bench or on the seat of the golf cart. Keeping your hips facing forward and your feet flat on the floor. Rotate your body all the way to the left, look over your shoulder and hold. Be sure to do the right side as well.
