boston I know many of you watched the Master’s this past weekend. It seems like this tournament is the launching pad for the golf season. At least here in New England. We New Englanders have time-honored traditions for sports and for the many golfers here, watching the Master’s is one of them. It springs us into a feeling of hope…hope for warmer days and golf courses opening their tees and greens for the first rounds of the season. The event was something to watch; it was riveting..best golf I’ve seen in years and packed with drama. I thought the word indescribable would be a perfect descriptor for some of those moments.The slow play penalty given to the 14-year-old amateur. The bad ball drop by Tiger and the emotional win by Adam Scott..amazing moments in golf.

Then on Monday, we were rocked to our core by a senseless act of violence. The Boston Marathon is always a day, rain or shine, of hope and inspiration. It brings people together from all walks of life and all the corners of the world. Many would say that the feeling of accomplishment “running Boston” is indescribable.

This past Monday however, the only word I can use to describe the event that took place is unimaginable. My deepest sympathy goes out to all those who have been effected by this tragic event.

Cathy it is my belief this will not change, as Bostonians embody the true spirit of Patriotism and resiliency exhibited every Marathon Monday and one despicable act of cowardice will not change this spirit. In fact it is my belief this will embolden that spirit and the 2014 Marathon will go on and people will embrace this true patriotic spirit making it and even bigger and better event in the future. Remember the words spoken by Sir Winston Churchill in the darkest days of the United Kingdoms History,
“We shall go on to the end.
We shall fight in France.
We shall fight on the seas and oceans.
We shall fight with brave confidence and
Great strength in the air.
We shall defend our island whatever the
Cost may be.
We shall fight on the beaches.
We shall fight on the landing grounds.
We shall fight in the fields and in the streets.
We shall fight in the hills.
We shall never surrender!!!
We the true Bostonians will fight the terrorist, the cowards and those that would do us harm in the same manner until the end, we shall never surrender to them or any of those that would seek to change our daily way of life!

Hi Cathy,

I was just watching GMA and they showed the opeing of the Bruins game last night and they had everyone singing the National Anthem. It just shows how we will get beyond this and won’t let the terroist get us. It was such a tragedy and the families that lost love ones. I think it really hits home when it’s in your backyard. Our hearts go out to all those people.
